Who are we
The creator of this site, James Chung, runs Reach Advisors, a marketing strategy and research firm. Clients include ski resort operators and their real estate development divisions. But for full disclosure, these reviews are totally independent of that work, so there is no preference in which resorts get selected or how they are reviewed.
All reviews are driven from actual visits by families traveling with children, so these reviews are conducted from the perspective of consumers rather than as industry insiders, but we hope to provide far more insight than can be found anywhere else.
Where do we provide coverage
For the inaugural season, we will focus on ski areas in the Northeastern US. We do, however, anticipate expanding to other regions in subsequent seasons.
Why do we do this
Do to our work in the ski industry, we’re constantly asked by other families what ski areas we recommend. And the answer is inevitably--it depends. To shortcut this process, we’ve developed a format listing the strengths and weaknesses of ski resorts from the perspective of families. In the end, we hope that this helps families obtain insiders’ knowledge on which ski areas are more or less likely to fit their needs, and also help the ski industry improve how they serve families. By the way, we aren’t doing this for the money. Resorts don’t pay us to be reviewed, and we have no interest in creating a business model around this service. We do this simply because we think that skiing with family is a great way to enjoy winter.

We’ll actually try to respond to most questions. For resorts not currently reviewed, we can often provide a bit of information based on industry standards and consumer feedback, even if we haven’t been able to send a reviewing team out there yet
